1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using PsychLab.IO, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Use of the platform
You may use PsychLab.IO to build, host, and run psychology experiments for legitimate research, educational, or professional purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Collect data from participants without their informed consent
- Attempt to harm, deceive, or manipulate participants in ways that violate research ethics standards
- Abuse the platform infrastructure (automated scraping, denial-of-service attacks, etc.)
- Resell or sublicense access to the platform
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
4. Researcher responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the experiments you create and the data you collect. This includes obtaining appropriate ethical approval, providing adequate consent information to participants, and complying with the data protection laws applicable in your jurisdiction. PsychLab.IO provides tools but is not responsible for how those tools are used.
5. Free and paid plans
PsychLab.IO offers a free plan with usage limits and a paid Pro plan with expanded limits. Plan features and pricing may change with reasonable notice. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time; access to Pro features continues until the end of the current billing period.
6. Data ownership
You retain ownership of all experiment content and response data you collect through the platform. We do not claim any rights over your research data. By using the platform, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep PsychLab.IO available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The platform is provided in an early beta phase; features may change, and we recommend that data intended for published research is independently verified and backed up.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PsychLab.IO is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of data or research results.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting us.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated by email or via a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
