1. Who we are
PsychLab.IO is an online platform for building, hosting, and running psychology experiments. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to PsychLab.IO and its operators.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following categories of data:
- Account data: your name and email address when you create an account.
- Experiment data: the experiments you build and the configuration you set.
- Response data: anonymous responses collected from experiment participants.
- Usage data: basic analytics such as page views and feature usage, used to improve the platform.
- Billing data: payment information processed by Stripe. We do not store card details directly.
3. Participant data
Participants who complete experiments on PsychLab.IO do not create accounts. Their responses are stored anonymously; we do not collect IP addresses, names, or other identifying information from participants unless a researcher explicitly adds a question requesting this.
Researchers are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from their participants and for complying with the ethical guidelines applicable to their institution and jurisdiction.
4. How we use your data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the platform
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
- Process payments
- Improve features and fix bugs
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Response data collected for experiments is retained until the experiment is deleted by the researcher.
6. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the platform:
- Stripe: payment processing
- Resend: transactional email delivery
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We share only the data necessary for them to perform their function.
7. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@psychlab.io.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
